Highlights of Myanmar
|
4 days - “Myanmar's South” A
must for everyone!
Temples, rocks, pagodas – all plated
in gold … and the glory of days gone
by.
Do you want to know what
influenced, a hundred years ago, the
great writers of Britain´s colonial
splendours, Kipling,Maugham, Orwell,
what they marvelled at, what they
admired, how they wove the fabric of
their great novels, then you must
come south with us to Moulmein,
Martaban, Amherst, to the Golden
Rock – pearls which have not lost
their shine...

5 days - “Golf & Culture” custom
-tailored for fans of the sport
Not exactly common – but more and
more in demand
Golf & Culture must not
necessarily be opposites.
Golf&Culture – we are bringing it
together. Myanmar has good
opportunities for both: Culture –
represented by one thousand years of
Buddhism. Golf – a British
past-time, the Colonials built the
golf courses near temples and
pagodas and used them intensely
during their years in the
country..... |
|
5 days - “To the Chin” Off – the
-beaten-track!
If you want to break the ground,
this is your trip!
Soft-expedition! To the villages
of the Chin and trekking on Mount
Victoria. 3109 m in altitude, Mount
Victoria looms above a vast and
pristine jungle. It is particularly
stunning when the rhododendrons are
blossoming – trees shining in
brilliant white and glowing red as
far as the eye can see. Wild roses
are blooming, ferns and orchids grow
on jungle giants … Sounds good?
Seeing is better..... |
|
7 days - “The wide, wide West”
To the territory of Mrauk Oo
The Arakan jungle mountains and the
golden beaches of Ngapali
If your next destination is the
fascinating Arakan (Rakhine today),
you are not anymore among the first
to touch down here. But it is not
that long ago that Arakanese looked
at the few foreigners reaching them
as people from outer space. We know
what we are talking of: We were the
very first..... |

Beach
Holiday Tour |
5 days - “Sea, Sun, Sand” dream
beaches to choose from!
Beaches – too beautiful for (just)
dreaming …
Two sea-side regions of Myanmar
are presently very trendy: Ngapali
(pronounced: Napali) and Ngwe Saung
(pronounced: Nesaun), both situated
at the Gulf of Bengal of the Indian
Ocean. Sea, Sun and Sand – and you
have a difficult choice to make:
beach hotels range from super simple
to first class, prices from
dirt-cheap to still moderate and, of
course, you determine the duration
of your stay. The two following
programmes may serve as examples.
Our motto: With SunBird to your
dream beaches!..... |

4 days - “Naga land”
New Year with
formerhead hunters A journey to the
limits of tourism
You have seen everything?
Nothing can surprise you? Be
careful: This is a program that
might impress even you – a trip to
the New Years´ celebrations of the
Naga at the border region to Indian
Assam. Not long ago this journey
could have cost you your head as the
Naga protected their villages from
enemies and nature´s demons with the
severed heads of their captured
victims. Luckily they have renounced
this cult...... |
|
5 days - “Buddha Festival” visit
the Intha at Lake Inle
The Pagoda Festival Phaung Daw Oo at
Lake Inle
Once every year, usually in
October according to the moon
calendar, the Intha´s normally
easy-going everyday life in the
villages on Lake Inle takes a
turbulent turn. In a common effort
the villagers clean the waterways
from the plague, the exuberantly
growing waterhyacinths, repair the
floating gardens, decorate the
floating Buddha temples and pagodas,
weave sacramental clothes and make
many, many cheroots (cigars)....... |
