Mannyadanarpon

Mannyadanarpon (7Y) www.airmyp.com

Company Profile

Mann Yadanarpon Airlines (MYA) is a new start-up airline 100% privately owned by Myanmar nationals. It is the 9th airline to be formed in Myanmar and will provide scheduled domestic air services together with seven other airlines.
All the eight airlines operating scheduled air services are currently operating with Yangon International Airport as their base. MYA will the first airline in Myanmar to base its operations at the Mandalay International Airport. Mandalay is the second largest city and the cultural centre of Myanmar in proximity to main tourist destinations. Whereas only one regional airline was operating to Mandalay International Airport up to a year ago, five regional airlines are now operating to the airport.

By basing its operations at Mandalay International Airport, MYA aims to provide convenient connections to international travelers arriving at Mandalay by direct regional flights, thereby establish a market base differentiated from other competitors.

After consolidating its domestic operations within a period of two years, MYA plans to expand its operations to regional destinations.

Present Corporate and Regulatory Status

MYA was incorporated as a limited liability company on 23 July 2013 with an authorized capital of Myanmar Kyats 500 Million and will increase its authorized capital after formal approval is obtained from the Myanmar Investment Commission within December 2013. MYA is currently formed with two shareholders with 60%-40% shares, who also comprise the Board of Directors.

The Department of Civil Aviation has issued a Provisional Air Operator Certificate to MYA on 31 July 2013. The Air Operator Certificate will be issued after arrival of the first aircraft together with the manufacturer’s operational and maintenance documents which are required for the certification process.

Aircraft Fleet

MYA has acquired two new ATR 72-600 aircraft on a sale and purchase basis with the first aircraft scheduled for delivery in early January 2014 and the second in the middle of February 2014. After two years of operation, MYA will acquire an Airbus A-320 aircraft on an operational lease basis for its planned regional operations.

The two ATR 72-600 aircraft will be registered in Myanmar with nationality and registration marks XY-AJO and XY-AJP which have already been assigned by the Department of Civil Aviation, Myanmar.

Planned Routes

MYA plans to commence scheduled flights to six domestic destinations in early February 2014 and expand its domestic network to an additional nine domestic destinations in March 2014 after its second aircraft arrives. The flights will mostly be operated in circular routes according to the proximity of destinations. MYA has chosen destinations of tourism and commercial significance.

When MYA commences regional operations, it is planned to operate initially to destinations in Thailand and Singapore.

Flight Operations

MYA’s pilots are all qualified on ATR 72-212 and ATR 72-500 aircraft types. MYA has procured the services of two ATR 72-600 qualified type rating instructors from ATR to carry out line training for MYA’s pilots until they are qualified for aircraft type rating on the ATR 72-600 before flying scheduled passenger flights.

Maintenance and Engineering

MYA’s licensed aircraft maintenance engineers have type ratings on ATR 72-212 and ATR 72-500 and they will attend ATR training courses as required to obtain certification approval on ATR-600 aircraft type. For the initial one year, the maintenance of MYA’s aircraft will be contracted to Myanma Airways, a government-owned airline, which has an Approved Maintenance Organization Certificate issued by the Department of Civil Aviation, Myanmar. Thereafter, MYA will carry out airline fleet maintenance with its own approved organization.

Future Plan

MYA plans to increase its aircraft fleet in the medium to long term and expand its network including international destinations.
